Breathing into the Unconscious

Holorenic Breathwork, Music and Axiology Retreat

Overview

Breathing into the Unconscious is a 3-day immersive retreat designed for people interested in exploring non-ordinary states of awareness with clarity, responsibility, and ethical grounding.

This retreat integrates holorenic breathwork, music as a structured experiential medium, and axiology (the science of human values) to explore how altered states of consciousness shape perception, meaning-making, and the way we relate to ourselves and the world.

Set by the Atlantic Ocean in Tenerife, the retreat offers a contained and carefully held environment in which participants can slow down, expand awareness, and explore deeper layers of experience — not as a search for catharsis or healing narratives, but as a process of conscious exploration and integration.

This is not a therapeutic retreat, nor a psychedelic experience.
It is an educational and experiential process, grounded in ethical responsibility, perceptual clarity, and structured integration.

Practices & Methodology

Holorenic Breathwork Sessions

The core of the retreat consists of guided holorenic breathwork sessions, inspired by the work of Josep María Fericgla. These sessions use intentional breathing combined with music to facilitate access to non-ordinary states of awareness.

The breathwork process is held within a clear framework that emphasizes:

safety and containment

conscious entry and exit from altered states

respect for individual limits

responsibility in the interpretation of experience

Breathing sessions are supported by a carefully curated musical structure, which plays a central role in guiding the process.

Music as an Experiential Framework

Music is not used as background, but as a structuring element of the experience. Musical sequences are designed to accompany different phases of the breathwork process, supporting depth, continuity, and coherence without imposing interpretation or emotional narrative.

Axiology & Values Inquiry (Integration)

A distinctive feature of this retreat is the integration of axiology as a framework for reflection and integration.

Participants complete the Hartman Value Profile before and after the retreat. During the program, values are explored through:

guided group reflection

ethical dialogue

perceptual inquiry

shared observation

This process helps participants observe how values influence the way altered states are perceived, interpreted, and integrated, without pathologizing experience or framing it therapeutically.

Group Integration & Dialogue

Integration sessions focus on clarity and meaning, rather than emotional discharge. Participants are invited to reflect on their experiences within a shared, respectful group setting, emphasizing listening, containment, and ethical reflection.
